Let the pictures talk

I’m starting to write a journal. Yep. But you know what handwritten journals can’t do? They can’t give you the visual aspects to my life (unless I print the pictures all out!). So here it is. The past few months of my life.

Hello, balance sheet, we meet again.

the Monday-thought-was-Tuesday gelare ice-cream waffle

a nice book with a sucky ending.

Tidied up my desk! But it’s all messy now. heh!

first time hushing the toddlers to nap. there’s something very peaceful about it all.

cute sleeping baby’s cute sleeping feet. cuuuuuuuuuute!

10,000 rice dumplings for charity!

behind the scenes of it all.

A morning walk with the divaaaaaaaaa!

And then I spotted a rainbow on my doorstep(:

Ice-cream burger thing from Bakerzin on Shuhui’s birthday! ***FOODPORNFOODPORNFOODPORN***

And baskin robbins with Fiza and Yana on the last day of our elearning break! i meant week! ***FOODPORNFOODPORNFOODPORN***

Mom’s new recipe: mini tofu patties! ***FOODPORNFOODPORNFOODPORN***

And the fire drill. where I got to try on the most awesome baby carrier ever! lots of baby cuddling and swaying and being in the centre of attraction during evacuation for this event!

And of course how could we forget a cake for Xinying’s birthday! Bakerzin’s warm chocolate cake. reminded me of DA OOZE from TCC! ***FOODPORNFOODPORNFOODPORN***

And to sum the evening off. Best one I’ve had in a while!

Went to the National Skin Centre with aunt, and got the Starbucks breakfast! NYUM NYUM NYUMNOMNOM ***FOODPORNFOODPORNFOODPORN***

and then we got some veggie sushi rolls;D ***FOODPORNFOODPORNFOODPORN***

And now here I am, hoping for more gatherings with old friends, more time with my babies, more ***FOODPORNFOODPORNFOODPORN***, more travelling around Singapore and hopefully OUT of Singapore… and less assignments.

4 more to go, to be completed within slightly less than a week’s time. Can I do it? HOPEFULLY! Then it’s HELLOOOOOOO to the holidays!

Perth: Food

leave a comment »

Well, Perth has been kind. To my stomach, but not my pocket, sadly. Initially we were actually worried about getting our vegetarian needs met in Perth, but we settled in and the people were kind enough to make special arrangements for us.

Apparently McDonald’s wasn’t the top-selling burgers in Australia, according to my Hongkong guide. It was this name-that-just-slipped-off-my-mind-and-i-can’t-remember-it-suddenly. And a pack of underpacked large macdonald’s fries actually cost me AUS$3! That’s S$3++! But believe me, it’s 100 times crispier and tastier compared to fries in Singapore, I SWEAR.

I love the atmostphere and the people working in the restaurants and eateries there. There’s once we were walking for already more than 30 minutes to find somewhere which sells vegetarian food and we stopped by to ask a waiter if there’s any food suitable for vegetarians and I absolutely love his response; “No, we don’t have that in the menu but I suppose I can do a little magic in the kitchens just for you!” And there you go, dinner supper settled. It turns out that the one running that Italian restaurant married someone who’s a Singaporean and upon knowing that we were tourists from Singapore, he even came up and took our orders himself, gave us complementary dishes and extra large servings! And the food was DELISH I tell you!

Some highlights:

*Note: This is not the fries from MacDonald's I mentioned;)

Dinner tonight, specially prepared by yours truly.

I love to cook, hehehe! It’s a way for me to not think about things and just focus and have fun.

Oh yeah, I’m addicted to Kris Allen’s new song. On replay since FOREVER!

Aaaaaand that’s all for now!

I’m not even awake for 12 hours and I already feel like I’m going to K.O. any moment. Today’s a wonderful day, ah gong and ahma and all my aunts and uncles and cousins all came to visit. And even with them around I managed to complete my essay. See, miracles do happen! And so we ate hotpot for lunch, like we did every new year, and took a family photo, like every other year. The only difference is that we finally don’t have to prop our cameras and support it above a tower of books so that everyone can get in the shot.

I made full use of my Nikon and tripod stand phew, it sure is stressful when everyone got into their places and stare as you set up your camera! It’s good to be prepared first. It’s good.

My oh-so-delicious hotpot! You know we only eat this once a year because there’s just too many things too prepare!

annual CNY highlight!

And just-so-you-know, I took a little too many photos of Jovianne once again. Ah, if only I got permission from my aunt to post them online… I would have my portfolio all ready and going already. But… sometimes respect is more than anything and everything. So oh well! I’ll still find some cute ones to share once in a while I guess. Hehe!

For My Sweet Tooth

You’ll see this in almost every chinese household during the newy year. But nah, I didn’t take this recently. Our Muslim neighbour gave this to us during Hari Raya last year. Believe it or not, these hand/home-made delicacies are lips-smackin’ good.

Food feast!

It’s the annual gathering in my religious place! We played a video tribute for the Family Day that Kevin made, and it was such a good feeling to see your pictures projected on the wall, for everyone to see. What a great feeling.

Oh yeah, the food was GREAT too! The food is ALWAYS GREAT!
